Community Education is Community Building
One of PCM's primary roles is to offer low-cost, high-quality, specialized media training using existing and emerging technologies. We work with all aspects of the public; youth, adults, non-profits and community-based organizations.
In our workshops, students learn lighting, audio, HD production cameras, scriptwriting and Final Cut Pro editing software. Students create videos, get studio training, field production experience, and learn pre/post production.
What's your reason?
Community members can take workshops for many reasons; personal growth, self-expression, having their voice heard and creating content for social change, to name a few. We love learning from our workshop participants.
Dream it! You bring the idea, we can help you realize it.
At PCM you can create what you want whether big or small. A story about your best friend, a day at the dog park, music videos, documentary, a TV show, series, animations, experimental art piece, entertainment or narrative shorts. What do you want to create?
Near and Far
We can help you post your videos on social media outlets such as YouTube, Vimeo and Blip, air your show on our local cable channels (11, 22 and 23) or partner with community media centers across the country.
Get Certified & Checkout Equipment
Some of PCM production workshops grant an equipment "certification" to participants once completed. These certifications allow PCM producers to checkout equipment for the purpose of creating programming. The certifications will be listed on the workshops page. You don't need to take a workshop to submit programs to our channels! Our certification workshops just allow community members to learn, check-out, and produce content using our professional production facilities and equipment.
